Ter Stegen Set To Make Germany Return In Nations League Semis Against Portugal

Germany goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is in line to make his return to the national fold in the side’s UEFA Nations League semifinal encounter against Portugal on the 5th of June after being included in the squad by head coach Julian Nagelsmann on Thursday. The 33-year-old shot stopper has been out of action since September, but Nagelsmann stated that his side’s No.1 was back in top shape after having made a couple of appearances for Spanish champions Barcelona. Nagelsmann, who has overseen a revamp in the Germany national setup following a sequence of dismal performances at big-ticket events, warned his side that they can’t take the upcoming fixtures lightly. “We can’t afford to go one metre less than we did in the best moments in the quarter-finals against Italy,” the former Bayern Munich coach said.
