Social media erupted as the news spread like wildfire regarding Rohit Sharma announcing his retirement from Test cricket. Former and active cricketers took to social media to share their reaction to the big news regarding the former Test skipper.
Rohit announced on social media. He posted an Instagram story confirming his decision. He said,” Hello everyone, I would just like to share that I am retiring from Test cricket. It’s been an absolute honour to represent my country in whites. Thank you for all the love and support over the years. I will continue to represent India in the ODI format”.

Dhruv Jurel, the young wicketkeeper-batter who made his Test debut under Rohit’s leadership, had a short but heartfelt post, sending his wishes. He said,” Always my first captain, happy retirement bhaiya”.
Mayank Agarwal, who was recently brought in as RCB’s replacement for the injured Devdutt Padikkal also took to Instagram to share the news. He said,” The walks from the pavilion, the silent understanding between the 22 years, the shared laughs in the dressing room, and the dominating mindset in the middle”.

Fellow Mumbai teammate and opening batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal had some kind words as well for his first captain. He said, “Rohit bhai, sharing the crease with you in whites was nothing less than a blessing. Thank you for everything”.
