The weekly Friday evening event spotlights signature cocktails and live music. Some of the drinks on the menu include the $15 carajillo, a mix of Licor 43 and cold brew, the $16 Juniper Spring, which mixes vodka and elderflower liqueur and the $18 Brushfire, a blend of sage and serrano-infused mezcal and tequila. In addition to the orchids that typically grow in the garden’s conservatory, displays will include plants on loan from private growers belonging to two local groups — the San Diego County Orchid Society and the Palomar Orchid Society — as well as orchids and materials from local businesses. Vendors on select weekends will sell unusual orchids and other merchandise. Foxworthy is known for being a member of the Blue Collar Comedy tours and specials. He has several Grammy award nominations, and is an author, actor, writer and radio and television host. The California Police Athletic Federation hosts the multisport Olympics-style competition with athletes from across the country representing law enforcement, firefighters, and officers from corrections, probation, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. There will be more than 35 events, ranging from team sports such as basketball and soccer to individual competitions like track and field, swimming, and CrossFit. The event fosters camaraderie, physical fitness and community spirit among first responders from a wide variety of fields. Team fee is $80 through May 30 and $100 May 31 to June 7.
