(3) Funniest 35 minutes ago The city has announced the 2028 Games will not allow cars, a tall order after plans were nixed to expand the area's transit system. Greater Los Angeles is building more transit right now than any city in the country. Now, they have fallen behind on a few things, but they are building so much you can hardly tell. Already open (openings in the past two or three years): 1. Regional Connector in downtown Los Angeles; turns three poorly routed light rail lines into two that run through downtown Los Angeles, with three new shared stations (and a relocated fourth) that provide cross platform transfers to North, South, East, and West of downtown. 2. Partial opening of the K Line in the Inglewood area. 3. ARROW DMU train service between Redlands and San Bernardino. Kind of a light rail/commuter rail hybrid. Will be open before the Olympics: 1. Full K Line opening (scheduled next month) with a station near LAX. 2. Extension to the A Line to Pomona (one of the light rails using the Regional Connector that is already the longest in the world). 3. Extension to the D Line heavy rail subway through Beverly Hills and Westwood, ending at the VA hospital. 4. LAX People Mover (connects LAX to the Metro Rail network to the C and K Lines at the station in #1 as well as between the terminals, parking lot, and rental car facility). 5. Orange County Streetcar through Santa Ana and Garden Grove. I'm not even including minor improvements like double tracking, more service, bus lanes, etc. (1) Funniest 32 minutes ago May the odds always be on your side Erma Gerdd (0) Funniest 35 minutes ago doctorguilty: El_Swino: It Never Rains in California segueing into It's Raining Men just went through my head, with a bit of Les Nessman thrown in. I think he'll give it tons of support so he can be there front and center. Now, whether the world boycotts it, dunno.
