Prove me wrong. I am now convinced that "woke" is how we, Americans, were 1984'd. Trump was able to classify all the people's fears of others into a broad category called "woke". It allows nazis and conservative Christians to unite under the same banner, have a common cause even though their fears may drastically be different, and avoids exposing how different their views are from each other, "e.g. I don't want trans to play in sports, not kill all Jews." I am also convinced this is a major reason they can't define woke, it is not one thing but a catch-all. The other reason is you typically don't voice many of those views out loud for fear of exposing themselves as a bigot. Easier to be like "I am not racist, just don't like this woke crap."
