'The Note Has Been...': Head Reveals Big Secret Behind Abhishek's Special Gesture
@Source: news18.com
Star Australia and Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Travis Head has said that the note that Abhishek Sharma celebrated his hundred with on Saturday has been in his pocket for the past six games and the Aussie is glad that it finally saw the light after Abhishek smacked a match-winning century against the Punjab Kings.
Abhishek and Head, the duo which caused havoc in IPL 2024, were not clicking the same in IPL 2025 before Saturday’s encounter against Punjab.
Abhishek completed his hundred off 40 deliveries with a single on Yuzvendra Chahal’s delivery and then celebrated by putting out a note from his pocket that read, ‘This one is for Orange Army’.

“The note has been in the pocket of Abhishek Sharma for 6 games. Glad it came out tonight,” Head said while speaking to the host broadcaster after the match.
“Not bad, nice to get on the winners list. Exceptional night; we needed it. We had our work cut out at the halfway point. We gave ourselves a chance, showed a bit more patience at the start,” Head added.
If Abhishek was the chief aggressor, reaching his half-century in just 19 deliveries, Head provided solid support, hitting three sixes and nine boundaries in a fluent 66 off 37 deliveries.
Having played second fiddle in the first half, Head shifted gears in the ninth over, smacking compatriot Glenn Maxwell for consecutive sixes.
Chahal broke the match-winning 171-run stand in the 13th over, with Head holing out to long-on.
Abhishek soon reached his maiden IPL hundred in 40 deliveries and celebrated by pulling out the piece of white paper from his pocket.
Requiring 60 off the last six overs, Abhishek continued the carnage with two sixes and a boundary off Chahal, bringing up Hyderabad’s 200 in the 15th over.
Yash Thakur was smacked for another six and boundary before Arshdeep Singh ended Abhishek’s dream knock in the 17th over.
Earlier, Punjab openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh provided a blazing 66-run start, but it was captain Shreyas Iyer who anchored the innings with a whirlwind 82 off 36 deliveries.
SRH play their next game against the Mumbai Indians on April 17 at the latter’s home.
