The One Show secured a major interview with a legendary Hollywood A-lister, who fans said 'wanted to be anywhere else' but on the programme. It's been a busy week for the BBC talk-show, with JB Gill presenting alongside Alex Jones for the first time and Stacey Dooley bringing everyone to tears. However, it was Thursday's edition (March 13) of the popular show that had everyone talking as Robert De Niro appeared to promote his new movie The Alto Knights. Despite being 81-years-old, De Niro is showing no signs of slowing down in recent years, with his last big-screen outing Killers of Flower Moon landing him an Oscar nomination . De Niro's new crime film The Alto Knights sees him playing two notorious New York crime bosses in the 1950s as they battle for control of the city's streets. Joined by co-star Debra Messing, most known for her work on WIll & Grace, and Netflix Adolescence stars Stephen Graham and Owen Coopeon The One Show's green couch, De Niro spoke in-depth about the new project. While happy to talk about his new movie, there wasn't any of the usual quirky anecdotes that actors are known for bringing out when attempting to sell tickets to their films. Those watching at home rushed to X, previously known as Twitter , to have their say on the interview that they found to be just a tad awkward. @Inscarll said: "Had to pause Robert De’Niro giving career advice so I can fast forward it, awkward as s***#Theoneshow."@djb0607 added: "#TheOneShow Bobs thinking I’m gonna whack my agent after this." @Gmackematix wrote: "These magazine shows must be especially tiresome to sit through filming once you are in your 80s. #TheOneShow." @dawnbrookie posted: "What’s wrong with Robert de Niro he looks so confused #TheOneShow." @Rosie12_1994 commented: "#theoneshow Robert di Nero always looks like he'd rather be elsewhere lol." @quishey stated: "Robert De Niro wants to be anywhere but on that couch.. #theoneshow." Teasing the show's dynamic, @MattOakleyMojo noted: "When they ask DeNiro about badger culling or scrapping the 20mph speed limit in Wales #theoneshow." It's been a hectic period for De Niro, who was seen last month in Narcos creator Eric Newman's new Netflix series Zero Day. The show follows De Niro's former President investigating a deadly cyber-attack in the US.
