'There's No Need...': What Sourav Ganguly Told Vaibhav Suryavanshi In Kolkata

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become an overnight star following his record century for Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing IPL 2025. At the age of 14 years, Vaibhav is not just the youngest centurion in IPL history but across T20 cricket. The teenage sensation has been setting up record ever since entering the two-day mega auction last year where he became the youngest to land an IPL contract.
Vaibhav made his entry in brazen fashion. Getting a game in place of injured RR captain Sanju Samson, he smacked the very first ball of his IPL career for a six, facing international cricketer Shardul Thakur.
That was just the signs of things to come as he later blasted a 35-ball hundred against GT – the quickest ever century by an Indian in IPL.
Legendary India captain Sourav Ganguly took note of the youngster and met with him at the Eden Gardens during when Kolkata Knight Riders hosted RR on Sunday afternoon.
According to a report in India Today, Ganguly advised Vaibhav to stick to his fearless approach and not change his game.
“I have seen your game. Play the way you play fearless cricket. There is no need to change your game,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by the publication.
