This Morning star Jordan North has paid tribute to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) after the charity saved his life on the banks of the River Thames back in December.
In a segment which aired during This Morning today, Jordan took viewers behind the scenes of how RNLI volunteers are training - and opened up about the night where he almost fell into the Thames while trying to fetch a swimming Labrador.
Revisiting the spot where he was rescued, Jordan tells the cameras: "So, this is where I got rescued. I was running along there… That's when I saw the lady that was pretty distressed and then I looked over and could see that the dog was struggling, climbed over that fence there, came down here, and was trying to get the dog to swim here but he was struggling.
"So I was going, ‘Here boy, here boy’ and then stupidly walked over there. And I don't know how I actually managed to get across there, because looking at that now in the daylight, I could have quite easily fallen in. That's when I managed to get the dog, and that's when I thought, ‘Oh, I'm in trouble here’ and that's when these guys [the RNLI] came."
Speaking about how Jordan narrowly avoided trouble, an RNLI volunteer told him: "This water moves up to six knots which is faster than Olympics swimmers swim. If you had fallen in and it had taken you underneath the pier, there are entrapment issues."
Jordan added: "Since the RNLI charity was first founded in 1824, they have saved over 146,000 lives including my own and the Labrador… From me and that lovely dog, thank you so much."
