Three burning questions for 2025 Bills
@Source: yardbarker.com
Once again, the Buffalo Bills had no answers for the Kansas City Chiefs in last year’s playoffs, losing 32-29 in the AFC Championship game. What will it take to get over the hump? That’s just one of many questions facing the team in 2025. Do they have enough talent at wide receiver? Bills general manager Brandon Beane became unglued while discussing the position during an appearance on WGR550's "The Jeremy and Joe Show." "Well, you guys were (expletive) in 2018 about Josh Allen, you guys wanted Josh Rosen, and now you guys are (expletive) that we don't have a receiver," Beane said. “We just scored 30 points in a row for eight straight games. A year ago, I get you guys asking why we didn't have receivers, but I don't understand it now.” Beane knew the team needed to upgrade the wide receiver position. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have signed former Browns WR Elijah Moore days after the interview. Before that, the team signed former Chargers wideout Joshua Palmer but lost Mack Hollins, who led Bills receivers with five touchdowns in 2024. Former fifth-round pick Khalil Shakir led the team with 821 yards in 2024, but he averaged just 531 yards and 2.3 touchdowns in his first three seasons. Considering Shakir finished last year as the NFL’s 40th-leading receiver, it’s fair to ask about Buffalo's pass-catchers in 2025. How long will they rule the AFC East? Thanks to a deep and talented roster, the Bills have won their division for the last five years. Of course, recent failures of the New York Jets and New England Patriots have made things easier. The Patriots haven't had a winning season since 2021, earning just eight victories over the past two years. However, quarterback Drake Maye showed promise as a rookie. He should do even better with the additions of offensive tackle Will Campbell, the fourth-overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and former Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
