Here are the latest rugby headlines from Wales and beyond on Saturday, July 26. Former Australia centre Morgan Turinui has slammed Andrea Piardi for getting his match-defining decision in the Lions' dramatic victory over the Wallabies "completely wrong" and insists he should be put in front of the World Rugby board to explain himself. Hugo Keenan scored a try at the death to clinch a remarkable 29-26 victory over Australia , which also secured the Test series with a game to spare. After Keenan had touched down, Piardi consulted his TMO after the Wallabies complained their openside flanker Carlo Tizzano had been illegally cleared out by Jac Morgan. Upon reviewing the footage Piardi concluded there was no wrongdoing and the try was awarded but this has incensed Stan Sport pundit Turinui, who launched into a long rant on live TV. "The problem is the last one shouldn't be a try," he told Stan Sport. "It's really simple. It's a point of law where dangerous conduct in a ruck and maul. "You cannot make contact with a player above the shoulder line at a ruck or maul. The referee said it was a dynamic incident with both players arriving. "Every ruck, every maul or every action rugby is a dynamic incident. They got it wrong. "If you are a Wallabies fan sat at home you should be proud of your Wallabies team. If you are a Lion jeez your team was outstanding coming back but that decision was 100% completely wrong. "The referee got it wrong, his two assistant referee's got it wrong, the TMO got it wrong." Turinui is adamant Piardi and his assistants should be made to answer for his decision. "Joel Judge the head of referees is out here," he told Stan Sport. "He needs to haul those referees in and ask them to please explain that decision. "If I'm the World Rugby board that are here, if I'm Dan Herber the chair of Australian rugby or if I'm Phil Waugh the CEO I'm asking for a please explain. "He did have a good game but the refereeing group when it counted got the match defining decision completely wrong. It's a point of law and it's in black and white. "It's not about bias, it's not about colouring, there's nothing there to get away from the fact it's a wrong call. I think it's law 9.20 - the first about binding and the second is about not making contact above the head. "It's a tough situation because Carlo Tizzano is legally jackling for the ball. He gets there just before Jac Morgan. "Jac Morgan comes in, hits the base of his neck and then ends up off his feet. "There's not much he can do because Tizzano is in such a great position but it's a sanction. "It's a penalty, the try must be disallowed and we should be going 1-1 to Sydney. Maro Itoje has revealed what he said to spark a Lions comeback when they looked down and out at 23-5 after 30 minutes as he targets a 3-0 Test series whitewash over the Wallabies. The Lions were staring down the barrel of a hiding before they launched a remarkable comeback to claim a famous 29-26 victory over the Wallabies in Sydney. Lions captain Itoje was outstanding and claimed the official player of the match award. “The gist of it was our ill-discipline, our lack of composure, or our inaccuracy was leading to their positive outcomes," he said. "The key is to focus on the next passage of play. That way, you mentally get yourself back into the game. “So once we got that far behind, the message was: this is where we are at the moment, let’s just focus on the next passage of play and start to build ourselves back in. “When we first met in London or Dublin, Big Faz made the call that he wanted us to come out here and win everything. Don’t get me wrong, we are absolutely delighted with the result tonight. “But we want to go again next week. It’s surreal – these are one of the moments in your life that you will cherish. This will live long in the memory. “Often in sport, you have to move on to the next thing and focus on what’s next and the next challenge. No doubt we will do that after tonight’s celebration, but every now and again it’s right to savour the moment. “It means the world, but I am just delighted for everyone involved. It’s been a massive squad effort. It has always been the goal to get to this result on tour. This is what dreams are made of." Wales Women head coach Sean Lynn praised the performance of his players after the 21-12 victory over Australia in Brisbane. This was Lynn's first victory since taking the helm after Wales had lost all five games in the Six Nations and this was a timely result a mere month out from the World Cup. A brace of tries from Nel Metcalfe along with a score from Hannah Dallavalle and six points from the boot of Keira Bevan got Wales over the line. "I'm very proud of them all, honestly," said Lynn. "I totally agree these are youngsters and just stepping up. "They've all worked hard over this summer and you can see now that hard work is paying off. "They are becoming better players and they are maturing nicely. "When you've got individuals like Al (Alex Callender) and you've got Bethan Lewis out there who were outstanding." Lynn was particularly impressed by Wales' half-backs, Bevan and Lleucu George, who were both pivotal in getting the visitors over the line. "When you've got your nine and ten controlling the game it's so much easier and then all the little bits of the jigsaw was falling into place," said Lynn. "We are not the finished article and we've still got a lot to work on but what I wanted from the girls this week they delivered and we'll move forward again. "I asked them to come in and set some targets. "They've worked hard over these last eight weeks and it was lovely to see this performance. "That performance out there was everything we asked of us to be."
