Tottenham player ratings vs Bodo/Glimt: Cristian Romero and Dominic Solanke shine as Pedro Porro fills void
@Source: standard.co.uk
Tottenham booked their place in a Europa League Final against Manchester United on May 21 with a 2-0 win over Bodo/Glimt in their semi-final decider in Norway. Leading 3-1 from last week’s first leg in London, second-half goals from Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro ensured Spurs will face Ruben Amorim’s side in an all-English final in Bilbao. Here’s how we rated the Spurs players at Aspmyra… Guglielmo Vicario 7 Kept out Patrick Berg’s first-half free-kick with a one-handed save. Dithered over every goal-kick, prompting howls and whistles from home fans, and was eventually booked in the 66th minute. Pedro Porro 8 Surely did not mean his goal but provided much-needed creativity and impetus in the absence of James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall. Went close to an opener with a 20-yard free-kick which was well-saved. Cristian Romero 8 Made the opening goal with a nod down for Solanke and unflustered defensively in an assured display. Micky van de Ven 8 Made some big tackles in a no-nonsense display. Destiny Udogie 8 Produced another good showing from left-back, full of intelligent overlapping runs. Rodrigo Bentancur 7 Mopped up well in front of the back four and used the ball well. Occasionally caught out by lingering too long on the ball. Yves Bissouma 7 Raised his game again in a composed performance. Drove forward with the ball when possible and sprayed some nice passes about. Dejan Kulusevski 5 Still not does not look back to his best. His touch was clunky and he was shrugged out of challenges he might normally have won. But put in a shift as usual. Brennan Johnson 5 Noticeably more defensive than usual and barely had a meaningful touch in attacking areas. Richarlison 6 Pressed well from the front in an energetic hour run out. Had an early effort blocked. Dominic Solanke 8 Showed a poacher’s instinct to open the scoring. Held up the ball and constantly unsettled the Glimt back line with his relentless pressing. Mathys Tel (Richarlison 61’) 7 Immediately made an impact by swinging in the corner for the opening goal. Pape Matar Sarr (Johnson 68’) 7 Helped Spurs to see out a big win for the final 20 minutes in a lively cameo. Not used: Austin, Whiteman, Danso, Gray, Spence, Odobert, Davies.
