‘Tracker,’ ‘Elsbeth,’ ‘Hollywood Squares’ And 6 Additional Series Renewed At CBS
@Source: forbes.com
CBS has handled renewals for 2025-26 to nine additional series.
‘Tis the season for early renewals for 2005-26 at CBS. Nine additional series have been confirmed for next season: comedies Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage and Ghosts; game show reboot Hollywood Squares; and dramas Tracker, Elsbeth, Fire Country and the NCIS trio: NCIS, NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney. The Ghosts renewal is for two seasons.
They join already renewed Matlock and confirmed newbies Sheriff Country, a spinoff from Fire Country, and Boston Blue, a spin0ff from Blue Bloods.
What’s left?
Granddaddy newsmagazines 60 Minutes and 48 Hours, the FBI trio (FBI, FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted), and reality competitions Survivor and The Amazing Race are all but guaranteed to return. And recently introduced mystery drama Watson, starring Morris Chestnut needs time to prove itself. That leaves freshman comedy Poppa’s House, starring Damon Wayans and Daman Wayan’s Jr., which could lose its perch for one of the two The Neighborhood spinoffs, and dramas The Equalizer and S.W.A.T. Since CBS could use Tracker, the most-watched regularly scheduled series in primetime, for lead-in support to something new, The Equalizer is definitely iffy. S.W.A.T., meanwhile, was supposed to be canceled two years ago and is on borrowed time. So, either the Fire Country or Blue Bloods spin-off is likely to step in.
