Lawrence struggled last season, and after Jacksonville hired a new coach in Liam Coen (and fired GM Trent Baalke) - it was reported that the Steelers have inquired about the quarterback amid his organization's upheaval. On Monday, though, he firmly committed himself to the Jags moving forward. 'I have a no-trade clause in my contract, so I would know about it if I was getting traded or if that was something that was going to happen. I'd have to be on board with it — which I'm not. I'm happy here in Jacksonville,' he said on Up & Adams. 'I plan on — we want to win a Super Bowl here, and I think we can do that. And I don't want to leave Jacksonville. So, I'm happy here, obviously. I'm not going to Pittsburgh.' The Jaguars have not hired a replacement for Baalke since firing him on January 22, and Lawrence added in his interview with Kay Adams that his agent actually reached out to ESPN's Adam Schefter regarding the trade rumor. Trevor Lawrence struggled last season for the Jaguars but said he is 'happy' in Jacksonville 'And Liam [Coen] texted me, actually, I guess the day after it came out, and Liam said, 'I shouldn't even have to say this, but that's not coming from us.' And I was like, 'Yeah, I figured.' 'So, we're all good. He didn't even have to send that, there was no doubt on my side.' Lawrence's comments come after ESPN's Michael DiRocco reported there was 'no chance' the Jaguars would trade Lawrence, citing an anonymous team source. The Steelers used Russell Wilson (who missed the first six games with injury) and Justin Fields at quarterback last season, and the pair played well enough to lead Pittsburgh to a 10-7 record and playoff berth. But with Wilson under center, the team's offense faltered down the stretch, and both he and Fields are now free agents. Lawrence, meanwhile, is under contract with Jacksonville through 2030 after signing a five-year, $275million extension last year. While he missed seven games last season due to injuries, Lawrence averaged a career-low 204.5 passing yards per game and threw just 11 touchdowns against seven interceptions.
