Trey McKenney entered this season with a lot of outside expectations on his shoulders. Everyone had him at the top of their Mr. Basketball lists and he was the poster child for the defending Division 1 state champions, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s. Yet, when McKenney got hurt during his spectacular 37-point effort in a 67-62 loss to IMG on Jan. 9, some wondered if his time away from the court might impact his Mr. Basketball chances.
