Eyes improvement in Lae comp
Trukai Industries made its debut this year in the Lae Corporate Netball Competition this year, marking an exciting new chapter for the company and its staff through the launch of its very own netball team, the “Tru Team.”
The team stepped onto the court for the first time in their new uniforms during round two of the competition over the weekend. Although the Women’s B Grade team and the Mixed team both lost their matches, team members and management say the experience was rewarding and filled with pride.
Trukai Customer Service Manager, Marilou Marilag said the debut was more than just about sports, it represented company pride, teamwork, and a new way for employees to connect and grow.
“There was excitement, pride, and nervous energy,” she said. “This marks a milestone for us. It builds team cohesion, showcases Trukai’s company spirit, and brings us closer to the local community through sport.”
Ms Marilag added that participating in corporate netball aligns with Trukai’s long-standing commitment to community programs like the Fun Run and rugby league and other community events. “It promotes employee morale, gender equality, and supports our values as a community-focused and socially responsible organisation,” she said.
Wearing the new Trukai-branded uniforms for the first time also boosted team spirit.
“It made the players feel proud and professional. There was a strong sense of unity and purpose,” said
