Trump demands full disclosure on assassination threats: ‘No more holding back’
@Source: Et Online
US President Donald Trump has instructed the Secret Service to provide him with complete details regarding two assassination attempts against him. Trump asserted that he is entitled to know all information about the individuals involved, expressing frustration over delays in disclosure. I want to find out about the two assassins. Why did the one guy have six cell phones and why did the other guy have [foreign] apps? No more holding back because of Biden... I'm entitled to know. And they held it back long enough. No excuses, Trump told the New York Post.Details of the Assassination AttemptsThe first assassination attempt occurred in July 2024, when 19-year-old Thomas Crooks fired shots at Trump during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump sustained a minor ear injury before being rushed off stage by the Secret Service. The assailant was shot dead by law enforcement. FBI investigators later discovered that Crooks had encrypted messaging applications from Belgium, New Zealand, and Germany on his mobile device.The second attempt happened two months later, in September 2024, at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The suspect, 59-year-old Ryan Routh, was found with six mobile phones in his vehicle. Prosecutors alleged that Routh had been planning the attack for weeks and had positioned himself with a rifle before being spotted by a Secret Service agent. Routh attempted to flee but was later arrested on a nearby interstate.Concerns Over Foreign AppsTrump's national security adviser, former Representative Michael Waltz, has raised concerns about the presence of encrypted foreign applications on the suspects' devices. Why would a teenager need multiple encrypted foreign apps? Waltz questioned, calling for a deeper investigation into possible international links.Waltz, who was previously involved in a congressional investigation into the first assassination attempt, continues to provide security guidance to Trump as the investigations progress.Trump’s Warning to IranAmid these developments, Trump also reiterated his stance on Iran, warning of severe repercussions should the country be involved in any assassination attempts against him. If I were assassinated by Iran, the country would be obliterated, he stated while signing a memorandum reinstating his maximum pressure sanctions policy.Authorities are continuing their investigations into both incidents, particularly the suspects' connections, digital footprints, and possible affiliations. With Trump’s demand for transparency, more details may emerge in the coming weeks about the motives behind these attacks and any potential foreign involvement.
