Ankara, June 16 (QNA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoؤںan discussed bilateral relations and regional and international issues in a phone call Monday with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
The Turkish president said that the cycle of violence that began with attacks on Iran at dawn last Friday has endangered the security of the entire region, stressing the need to return to the negotiating table as soon as possible.
He stressed the importance of ensuring that the Israeli aggression against Iran would not lead to ignoring the genocide being committed by the Israeli entity against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
For his part, the Russian president indicated that he agrees with the Turkish president on ending the conflict and opening the way for diplomacy as soon as possible.
The Israeli entity launched a large-scale attack on Iran at dawn last Friday, targeting nuclear and military facilities, resulting in the deaths of military leaders, nuclear scientists, and dozens of civilians, in addition to significant destruction of infrastructure.
Iran responded with missile and drone attacks on sites in the occupied territories, raising fears that the region could slide into a wider confrontation that would threaten regional stability. (QNA)
