Nalgonda: Two teenage boys drowned in the Munneru stream near Danvaigudem in Khammam city on Thursday. The deceased were identified as K. Jenwith and B. Kiran Kumar, both 14 years old and residents of the Pumping Well area under the jurisdiction of Khammam III Town Police Station. The boys had recently completed their Class X examinations from a private school and were awaiting their results.According to the police, the duo left home around 6 am, telling their families they were heading to the playground for cricket practice. However, they went to the Munneru stream near the graveyard ghat for a swim and are believed to have drowned due to lack of awareness about the water’s depth. With no eyewitnesses present at the time of the incident, their bodies were discovered only later in the evening by local residents, who spotted them floating in the stream and immediately alerted the police.
