The unbelievable versatility Gabby Thomas has shown this season to unarguably crown her the undisputed sprint queen.
Paris Olympics golden girl Gabby Thomas is in unbelievable form, dropping brilliant marks that show her versatility and unarguably crown her the undisputed sprint queen in the early 2025 season.
The American speedster has competed in the 200m, 400m, and 100m in the outdoor season, and her times in each have not been bettered by any female sprinter diversifying in these events.
Despite strictly focusing on the 200m and sometimes 400m in the past two years, Thomas took to the 100m at the Texas Invitational last weekend and won in an impressive time of 11.02s (0.1), just missing out on breaking the 11-second barrier.
At the inaugural Grand Slam Track in Kingston, the talented sprint queen competed in the 200m and 400m, dropping astonishing marks in the events to win the Long Sprints category and walked away with the grand prize of $100,000.
Thomas effortlessly won her 200m event in a respectable 22.62s, and running the race of her life in the 400m, she proved her mettle against the world's best in the event, finishing second in an astonishing new personal best of 49.14s behind an impeccable Salwa Eid Naser, who produced a jaw-dropping 48.67s performance for the win.
These marks have shown the 25-year-old is perhaps in the best career shape of her life this season, and her range has been likened to the legendary Allyson Felix.
At the Paris Olympic Games, Thomas was the undisputed golden track queen having won three gold medals in the 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m.
With her early 2025 season performances, she has proven her Paris outing was no fluke and could go for the same measure of medals at the upcoming World Championships in Tokyo this summer - that is if she's not going for four by running the individual 400m event.
Her next meet is the Grand Slam Track in Miami from May 2 - 4, where she's scheduled to compete in the Short Sprints category (100m and 200m) against a star-studded list of sprinters.
If Thomas walks away victorious with the winning prize of $100,000 again, surely there's no denying the fact that she's in a league of her own and on to something special for the rest of the 2025 season.
