Uproar over disgusting threat against Trump at Kent State University
@Source: dailymail.co.uk
Fury has erupted over a disturbing image of President Donald Trump being displayed on a Kent State University building's window in Ohio.
The huge rendering of Trump's bloody head floating with a pike through the middle was featured on the public university campus alongside the shocking sentiment: 'We only have to get lucky once.'
Kent State confirmed to DailyMail.com the that work exists and revealed it had been created by an art student.
'The Kent State student whose art class exhibition included depictions of violence toward elected officials has agreed to remove the display,' the university said in a statement.
'The university supports the student’s decision and the work of the faculty to bring about a resolution to this matter.'
The piece was supposed to be an exhibition for the Center for the Visual Arts, the university said.
Campus police said they are aware of the threatening depiction of Trump, but did not comment further on the situation.
The image was first posted by popular right-wing X account Libs of TikTok.
DailyMail.com approached the White House for comment.
The image has prompted calls for Trump to defund Kent State, which is just outside Akron, Ohio.
Trump's administration has shown a willingness to yank federal funding from Ivy League universities that allowed violent anti-Israel protests to continue for weeks last spring.
Other viewers took a historical approach, alluding to the fact that Kent State has been known for rowdy protests in the past.
Most notably, on May 4, 1970, four students were shot and killed by the Ohio National Guard as they were protesting against the Vietnam War. Nine more students in the crowd were wounded.
'Kent State has a history of starting riots and then blaming the police after they instigate a law enforcement response,' one person wrote on X. 'This university needs massive reforms and funding cuts until they achieve them.'
'The last time they let a bunch of violent leftists run amuck on their campus the National Guard took care of it,' another wrote. 'Maybe try that again?'
A third suggested that the student behind the depiction of a murdered Trump should be sent to the notoriously hellish prison in El Salvador that has become the home of dozens of deported migrants.
'Defund Kent State until they identify the culprit(s) and turn them over for federal prosecution. And lift the funding freeze ONLY when the guilty party is rotting in the prison at CECOT,' the person wrote.
Threats against presidents are normal, however, Trump was the target for two different assassins in the heat of the 2024 presidential campaign.
First, Trump was shot during a July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, leaving him with a bloody ear.
The shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, also killed Corey Comperatore and injured two other audience members. Crooks was shot and killed by the Secret Service
Trump was again targeted on September 15 while golfing at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, not too far from his Mar-a-Lago resort.
The suspect was later identified as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh. According to a witness, a disheveled-looking man jumped out of the bushes on the golf course and then fled in a black Nissan after shots rang out.
Routh was arrested about an hour after the witness relayed what he saw while driving to a furniture store that day. He was later charged with attempted murder.
More recently, there have been some instances of people threatening to kill Trump after he won the election and was sworn in on January 20.
Shawn Monper, of Pennsylvania, was charged last week with threatening to murder the commander-in-chief.
The 32-year-old is said to have used the chilling nickname 'Mr. Satan' in YouTube videos where he allegedly threatened Trump and his key allies including outgoing DOGE boss Elon Musk and ICE officials.
According to the federal criminal complaint, on Tuesday, FBI agents were notified about Monper's YouTube account, which the Justice Department said had made several 'threatening statements' between January 15 and April 5 this year.
The department added that Monper obtained a gun permit just after Trump's inauguration on January 20.
In February, he made the sinister comment on his 'Mr. Satan' account: 'I have bought several guns and been stocking up on ammo since Trump got in office.'
'Eventually I'm going to do a mass shooting,' he said on the account in March, adding: 'I have been buying 1 gun a month since the election, body armor, and ammo.'
In March, another man, Kendal Aaron Todd, 42, was arrested by the Secret Service for online death threats against Trump.
Todd, of Florida, allegedly challenged the president to a naked fight to the death.
'Donald Trump has personally made business decisions which have hurt so many different reincarnated Jesuses,' Todd said in the 80-second video which was filled with expletives.
'Because of Donald Trump, every single person in the world is cursed,' he noted. 'Donald Trump is the Antichrist.'
'Fight me naked to the death!' he added. 'I'm going to cut you up with a chainsaw and put you in acid.
