Fans who have parted ways with their local cable provider can catch this game for free by utilizing streaming alternatives including FuboTV (available in Spanish only) and DirecTV Stream, which both offer a free trial. FuboTV is also offering $20 off your first month. Sling TV is offering promotional discounts for new customers. This match will also be available on Peacock, which offers a premium monthly subscription for $7.99/month or a premium annual subscription for $79.99/year, where you can save 17% off in one payment. What is the SheBelieves Cup format? The four teams (USA, Colombia, Japan and Australia) will play three matches over the next week. A team earns three points for a win, one point for a draw, ultimately crowning a champion after the round-robin is completed. If two teams have the same number of points, goal differential decides the champion. USA-Japan preview Both the United States and Japan enter this championship match with two wins and six points, vastly distancing themselves from the rest of the field. However, Japan leads in goal differential, which will give them the crown if the game ends in a draw. Seeking their sixth consecutive SheBelieves Cup championship and eighth overall, the undefeated and top-ranked United States (2-0) has remained potent without a considerable amount of star power. Those absences have opened the door for the youth of the program to shine in a treasure chest of depth at head coach Emma Hayes' disposal. After a 2-0 defeat of Colombia, Team USA defeated Australia 2-1 on Feb. 23 with a fresh starting XI. The latter was a bit of a struggle with the newer pieces. Something they can ill afford against the sizzling Japanese. The USA has a +3-goal differential. The four goals are slightly concerning given the high-powered offense of their final opponent. Emily Sonnett, Lindsey Heaps, Catarina Macario and Jenna Nighswonger were all rested against Australia. It’s their time to put out the friendly fire and provide a blaze of glory for the Americans yet again. What kind of encore will Michelle Cooper have after notching her first international goal? It’s hard to predict what Hayes will do here. You would expect her to send out the best lineup with a blend of experience, similar to the Colombia game. Some veteran leadership and some newcomers still dipping their feet in the international waters. Dare she field another experimental XI? It would be a gutsy move with the trophy at stake. The tactical discipline of Japan will be many of the youth’s toughest encounters on this scene. Keep an eye on Lilly Yohannes' ability to adapt on the grand stage of this tournament. The United States remains unbeaten in nearly a year under Hayes. Anything less than a win, results in the first second place finish for the first time since 2020. An undefeated and eighth-ranked Japan (2-0) is one win (or draw) away from its first ever SheBelieves Cup trophy. They came close two years ago with the silver. Fittingly, they will have to get past Goliath to claim the gold. Japan is coming off a 4-1 victory over Colombia on Feb. 23. They opened the tournament with a 4-0 victory over Australia. That wide margin helped them take a +7-goal differential into tonight’s matchup. Mia Tanaka has been brilliant for the Nadeshiko, tallying seven of Japan’s eight points, including four goals and three assists. Tanaka is tied with Team USA’s Mallory Swanson for the most goals scored in a single SheBelieves Cup. Tanaka is the clear frontrunner for SheBelieves Cup MVP. It’s the 41st-time meeting between the United States and Japan. The Americans lead the series, 31-8-1. Their last Olympic match last year saw Team USA outlast the Japanese in a fierce quarterfinal courtesy of the heroics of Trinity Rodman. What are the projected lineups for USA vs. Japan? United States projected XI: Campbell; Fox, Sams, Sonnett, Dunn, Coffey, Yohannes, Cooper, Macario, Shaw, Ryan Japan projected XI: Yamashita; Moriya, Takahashi, Kumagai, Minami, Kitagawa; Hamano, Hasegawa, Hayashi; Tanaka, Ueki What are the latest odds for USA vs. Japan SheBelieves Cup? Moneyline: USA +110, Japan +240, Draw +240 More information on how to watch the match on TV and streaming services: What: SheBelieves Cup - USA vs. JapanWhen: Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025Time: 10:30 p.m. Eastern (7:30 p.m. Pacific)Where: Snapdragon Stadium | San Diego, Calif.
