Vanessa Feltz made an emotional admission to viewers just minutes into her new show on Monday morning (March 24). Returning to TV screens for the first time she left This Morning earlier in the year, which she was part of for over 30 years, Vanessa’s new programme will rival her former station’s daytime show Loose Women . Titled Vanessa, the programme sees the 63-year-old joined by a range of celebrity guests and welcomes fans to call in to share their opinions on any topics discussed. Teasing what to expect in the show’s introduction, Vanessa said: “The most important thing to say is that this show is all about you, the vibrant viewer. It's a place to talk about how you're feeling, where we can help maybe and solve a few problems together and also have a good laugh along the way. "It's going to be the place where an honest chat about relationships, parenting, grandparenting, love, sex, if you're lucky enough to have any, health, fitness and friendship. All the good stuff." Joined by former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan, who played Rosie Webster, Vanessa’s debut episode showed that no topic will be left off the table. With Helen recently finding love after her 13-year relationship with Bristol Rovers footballer Scott Sinclair came to an end, they talked about whether you need to have a partner to be happy. Reflecting on her time on E4’s Celebs Go Dating , which also featured Vanessa, Helen argued that it’s normal to want to be in a relationship. “When I did Celebs Go Dating, I wasn't really happy about it but they said I was co-dependent,” she said. In a conversation that felt as if no cameras were watching, Vanessa revealed to Helen that this is ‘the longest’ she’s been single since she was born. “Honestly don't ask me to help you with this one because I feel very much that I like to have someone there and have someone that I'm supposed to love and someone's that's supposed to love me. "But everybody seems to frown on that enormously and say, 'Only when you've learnt to love yourself and only when you're content in your own company, Vanessa, then you will meet someone’. But this is the longest I've been single since I was born," she admitted. Adding that she had a boyfriend since she was just 10-years-old, Vanessa continued: “"I've had just about two years on my own. I never thought I'd survive it quite frankly. I can't say I'm enjoying it." Vanessa tied the knot to surgeon Michael Kurer in 1983. Going on to have two children, including TV chef Allegra Benitah, the pair got divorced in 2000. The 63-year-old went on to enter a relationship with singer Ben Ofoedi, who she got engaged to in 2006. Despite being engaged for over a decade, Vanessa confirmed in 2023 that they had split up. Previously, speaking on This Morning about her and Ben ending things, Vanessa said: “When you have to end a relationship it’s very hard. I’ve had what feels like millions of messages from so, so many people going through it. “I wouldn’t want to minimise in any way what it’s like when you’re heartbroken. It’s horrible.” She added: “I think it helps when people say you shouldn’t feel foolish for having faith in your own partner. You shouldn’t feel that you’ve done something stupid because you believed in somebody that you loved. That isn’t a ridiculous thing to do. "Like I said, I feel sad. I feel hurt. I feel terribly humiliated. And lots of people have said you shouldn’t, so I think that’s quite helpful. To believe in your own relationship isn’t stupid.”
