A MAJOR airport has issued a baggage rules warning to thousands of Irish people, including rugby fans, flying away this weekend.
Cork Airport took to Facebook to alert those heading away over the weekend.
They warned that, due to the school break for the Easter holidays, passengers should allow extra time for their journey.
A spokesperson wrote: "This weekend is shaping up to be a very busy one as schools break for the Easter holidays and Munster Rugby fans jet off to France for the Champions Cup quarter-final!
"We like to ensure that all our passengers have a smooth and hassle-free experience, so here are a few important tips for anyone flying over the coming days!
"Arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight is due to depart."
Cork Airport chiefs also advised passengers to pre-book a car parking space online to avoid any disturbance.
Irish holidaymakers are also urged to save time by preparing for airport security checks.
Cork Airport added: "Passengers are advised to prepare their hand luggage before they travel to the airport and pay careful attention to packing and preparing liquids, gels and pastes.
"The 100ml liquids, gels and pastes rule still applies at Cork Airport.
"Passengers should prepare liquids, gels and pastes under 100ml in a single, transparent, resealable plastic bag with a total content maximum of 1 litre (approximately 20cm x 20cm).
"Passengers will need to present these separately at Passenger Screening.
"Passengers travelling with babies and young children are permitted to bring as much baby formula, milk and snacks as is required for the duration of the flight."
Travellers are also asked to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before their scheduled flight departure time and 2 hours 30 minutes before their charter flight departure time.
'BAGGAGE SIZERS' WARNING
It comes after Ryanair has issued a "baggage sizers" warning to Irish passengers ahead of the busy Easter break.
Europe's top budget airline has advised all prospective holidaymakers to ensure their carry-on bag allowance and sizes are what they have agreed to in their booking.
They are urging passengers to check their baggage allowance and sizes prior travelling.
In a video shared on social media, a Ryanair spokeswoman explained their current bag policies ahead of the busy Easter break.
She said: "Lots of people have been talking about our agreed bag allowances and sizes.
"If you've selected a basic fare, you agree to bring one small bag for all of your essentials which must be no bigger than 40 x 20 x 25cm.
"To make sure it fits under the seat, staff may place it inside the top section of our bag sizer.
"It must fully fit inside the sizer with no handles or straps sticking out.
ADDITIONAL CHARGE
"If it doesn't fit, you will have to pay an additional charge of up to €60 to bring it on board."
A small bag that passengers are allowed to carry onboard for free must fit under the seat in front of you.
It can be a handbag, laptop bag, or backpack.
Ryanair uses bag sizers at the boarding gate to ensure carry-on bags meet the size requirements.
If your bag doesn't fit, it will be tagged, placed in the hold, and you'll be charged a fee of up to €60 to bring it on board.
