The Super Green Eagles of Nigeria have arrived in London to kickstart preparations for the highly anticipated 2025 Unity Cup. With just days to go before their opening fixture, the team is settling into camp, focused and ready for the challenge ahead. Nigeria will begin their campaign with a blockbuster showdown against archrivals Ghana on Wednesday, May 28, at the GTech Community Stadium, home of English Premier League side Brentford FC. It’s a clash that promises fireworks, passion, and pride, as two of Africa’s football giants go head-to-head on European soil. Leading the charge for Nigeria is veteran captain Ahmed Musa, alongside local-based talents Ifeanyi Oyebuchi, Papa Daniel, Nduka Junior, Sadiq Ismaila, Waliu Ojetoye, Collins Ugwueze, Saviour Isaac, Abubakar Adamu, and Sikiru Alimi. These homegrown stars were handpicked by head coach Eric Chelle, who is keen on blending domestic flair with international experience. The squad has also been boosted by the arrival of several Europe-based stars, including Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, Frank Onyeka, Semi Ajayi, Cyriel Dessers, Nathan Tella, Felix Agu, Igho Ogbu, and Bruno Onyemaechi. Five more players—goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali, Maduka Okoye, Amas Obasogie, midfielder Christantus Uche, and winger Samuel Chukwueze—are expected to join the camp shortly, rounding out the full 25-man roster. Joining Nigeria and Ghana in the Unity Cup are the Reggae Boys of Jamaica and the Soca Warriors of Trinidad and Tobago, setting the stage for a vibrant, intercontinental football festival that celebrates unity, heritage, and world-class talent.
