Villajoyosa, Spain — The vibrant coastal town of Villajoyosa is set to welcome the 38th Costa Blanca Rugby Sevens tournament on May 24 and 25, 2025, taking place at the Rugby Stadium on Carretera del Pantano. The event will showcase two days of world-class rugby action featuring 16 top teams—8 men’s and 8 women’s—from across Europe and beyond. Widely recognized as Spain’s longest-running rugby sevens tournament, the Costa Blanca Rugby Sevens will feature national squads from China, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Sweden, Poland, Norway, Denmark, Austria, Moldova, and Spain, as well as elite invitational teams including Alcatraz (Venezuela), Switzers (Switzerland), and the Euskarians (Basque Country). The action kicks off Saturday, May 24 at 10:40 AM, with matches running until 7:00 PM each day. Over 48 fast-paced games will be played across the weekend, each consisting of two 7-minute halves. 12 international referees from England, Wales, Ireland, Moldova, and Spain will oversee the tournament. This year’s competition promises intense matchups and unpredictable outcomes. In the women’s division, Poland enters as the favourite, bringing a team with World Rugby Sevens Series-level talent. In the men’s division, China, currently on a European tour, arrives as a strong contender for the title. PRIZES AND TICKETS A total of €5,000 in prize money will be awarded: €2,000 to the winners in both men’s and women’s categories €500 to the runners-up in each division Tickets are priced at €10 per day, available at the gate or online via www.entradium.com.
