Vintage Austin car rally in Melrose welcomes enthusiasts, families and locals to a fun, free day out

The Scottish Vintage Austin car rally will be held on Sunday, September 21st, at the Triangle, next to Melrose Rugby Club. Evoking a bygone age, there will be a wide variety of Austins to see – in fact a bumper entry of more than 50 is expected. But that’s not all – there are free goodies up for grabs. To keep energy levels high, coffee, soft drinks and cakes will be on sale at the coffee truck @coffeeinc_borders, toilet facilities will be available at the Melrose Rugby Club. The George & Abbotsford Hotel and the Scottish Vintage Austin Enthusiasts Club have been planning the free event for many months, ensuring there is a great day out for everyone, locals and tourists alike. Any donations will be made to My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, We will also have some fabulous volunteers from the charity in attendance with information about the charity, a few freebies and merchandise. The Scottish Vintage Austin Enthusiasts Club was formed in 1995 and caters for all Austins up to 1950. They have a membership of mainly post vintage owning enthusiasts, however, all owners with all makes of Vintage and Classic Cars are welcome to join. Their rally gazebo and stand decorations attract some admirable attention with the cars certainly being the centre of attention. They expect a number of Austin models in Melrose: – Austin Sevens – Austin Tens – Austin 12s – Austin 16s We are so proud and delighted to confirm that "Austins' in the Borders’" will take place on the weekend of the 19th- 21st of September 2025 in Melrose for the second year, The group will be staying and displaying the cars at the George & Abbotsford Hotel over the weekend. The main route on Saturday will mainly follow along the A708 to St Marys Loch. Sunday will be the main static rally day next to the Rugby ground in Melrose. 2024 was the largest Vintage Austin gathering in the UK and we plan to repeat fantastic event. Please note this event is open to any Austin. The main event on Sunday, September 21st, will run from 10.30am to 4pm for the public. Click here to find out more.
