Volkswagen is looking forward to introduce multiple premium cars in India and that too in this year. According to multiple reports, the company might bring Golf GTI and Tyron to India in 2025. The VW Golf GTI is a popular premium hatchback offered by the company and enthusiasts in India are eagerly waiting for its arrival in the country. The hatchback is currently in its eighth-generation and its GTI variant is rumoured to be brought to India. We expect the car to arrive in India as CBU/ CKD. Speaking about the specs of the VW Golf GTI Mk 8.5, the car is powered by EA888 LK3 evo4 engine. The engine is 2.0-litre turbocharged direct injection petrol unit that is coupled with quick-shifting 7-speed DSG. The engine generates 261hp and 370Nm output. In terms of acceleration, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds while the top speed is limited to 250 km/h. It will get 18-inch wheels in the ‘Richmond’ design along with many premium features on the inside. The company is also bringing VW Tayron to India and it is expected to arrive in a CKD form. The SUV is expected to offer a 2.0-litre petrol engine that generates 150kW of maximum power and 320Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission along with an all-wheel drive system. The Volkswagen Tayron is likely to get 18-inch alloy wheels along with kick-activated power tailgate. The cabin features are expected to get 10-point massage function, 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 30-colour ambient lighting system, a head-up display, three-zone automatic climate control system and much more.
