KALAMAZOO, MI –– The high school spring sports season rolls on and Southwest Michigan athletes are continuing to showcase their top talents.
Now, it’s time to recognize them appropriately –– it’s the fifth Athlete of the Week poll of the 2025 season.
There’re 51 athletes to select from in this week’s poll, and it’s a loaded field of worthy candidates with spectacular individual performances.
Cast your vote for Athlete of the Week as often as you’d like until the poll closes at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025. If you’d like to nominate an athlete for future considerations, please email stats to MLive sports reporter Matthew Ehler at mehler@mlive.com.

Kilee Halladay, Gull Lake soccer
The freshman has scored over 15 goals and added eight assists for the Division 2 No. 3-ranked Blue Devils.
Jeremy Dixon, Kalamazoo Central track
The reigning 100-meter state champ helped the Maroon Giants claim the SMAC Championship thanks winning both the 100-meter (10.65) and 200-meter (22.04) dashes at Saturday’s meet.
Samuel Baker, Kalamazoo Central track
The sophomore was another key piece to K-Central winning the SMAC Championship, as he won both the 1,600-meter (4:20.23) and 3,200-meter (9:57.09) events at Saturday’s meet.
Mauriel Seeberger, Portage Northern track
The sophomore enjoyed a spectacular day at the SMAC Championships, winning three events including the 100-meter (12.19), 200-meter (25.21) and 400-meter dashes, which helped the Huskies take third. Seeberger’s time in the 100 was a new personal record, too.
Annie Alkema, Kalamazoo Central track
The senior won both the 1,600-meter (5:08.24) and 3,200-meter (11:23.60) at Saturday’s SMAC Championships, helping the Maroon Giants take second overall.
Lamonta Stone, Three Rivers track
The senior won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.01 seconds to help the Wildcats claim the Wolverine Conference championship at Friday’s meet.
Caleb Wesseldyk, Otsego track
The senior won both the 1,600-meter (4:21.32) and the 3,200-meter (9:53.61) runs at Friday’s Wolverine Conference Championships, helping the Bulldogs take second overall. Wesseldyk’s time in the 1,600 was a new personal record, too.
Alex Robbins, Otsego track
The junior won both the shot put (52-9.75) and the discus (152-0.5) at Friday’s Wolverine Conference Championships, helping the Bulldogs take second overall.
David Willis, Three Rivers track
The sophomore earned a new personal record and won the high jump (6-4), which also helped the Wildcats claim the Wolverine Conference championship at Friday’s meet.
Blake Stewart, Three Rivers track
The junior earned a new personal record and won the long jump (22-2), helping the Wildcats win the Wolverine Conference championship at Friday’s meet.
Keyanna O’Tey, Sturgis track
The multi-time state champ powered Sturgis to the Wolverine Conference championship thanks to winning both the 100-meter (12.16) and 200-meter (25.14) dashes at Friday’s big meet.
Emma Hoffman, Otsego track
The All-American junior won both the 1,600-meter (4:54.21) and the 3,200-meter (10:31.50) events at Friday’s Wolverine Conference Championships. Hoffman’s time in the 1,600 was also a new personal record.
Greyson Burrous, Lawton track
The junior won both the 100-meter (11.06) and 200-meter (22.82) dashes at last week’s SAC Conference meet, which lifted the Blue Devils to a second-place finish overall.
Marek Butkiewicz, Kalamazoo Hackett track
The junior spurred the Irish to the SAC Conference championship thanks to first place finishes in both the 1,600-meter (4:22.38) and 3,200-meter (10:10.91) runs at last Monday’s big meet.
Mason Mayne, Lawton track
The senior claimed two personal bests at last Monday’s SAC Conference meet, as he took home first place finishes in both the shot put (61-3) and the discus (185-6) –– and helped the Blue Devils claim second overall.
Daisy Estrada, Gobles track
The sophomore helped the Tigers win the SAC Conference title thanks to first place finishes in both the 100-meter dash (12.59) and the 300-meter hurdles (45.28). Estrada’s time in the hurdles was also a new personal best.
Libby Smith, Gobles track
The sophomore helped the Tigers win the SAC Conference title thanks to first place finishes in both the 1,600-meter (5:20.93) and 3,200-meter (11:53.70) runs at last Monday’s big meet.
Brenna McDonald, Schoolcraft track/softball
The senior earned a personal best and won the shot put (43-4) at last Monday’s SAC Conference meet, while also claiming second in the discus (126-3). McDonald also hit .400 with four hits for the Eagles’ varsity softball team.
Alex Krugh, Galesburg-Augusta baseball
Krugh was a two-way standout in the Rams’ doubleheader sweep over Saugatuck last week. The sophomore collected five total hits including two doubles and four RBI at the plate, while tossing a six-inning gem with 13 strikeouts to just two walks in one of the Rams’ pair of wins.
Sean Skuratowciz, Kalamazoo Central baseball
Skuratowicz played hero for K-Central and came up clutch with a walk-off base hit to lift the Maroon Giants to a thrilling 6-5 win over Stevensville Lakeshore last week.
Isabelle Horvath, Bangor softball
Horvath powered Bangor to a 5-1 week thanks to her two-way talents, which included a 4-0 record with 51 strikeouts to just one walk over 22 innings pitched, while also hitting .538 with a homer, a triple and seven total hits with 10 RBI, 11 runs and 12 walks at the dish.
Carson Pullins, Bangor baseball
The sophomore displayed his two-way talents for Bangor last week, hitting .500 with a homer and six total hits, three RBI, eight runs scored and eight stolen bases at the dish, while also tossing a pair of gems on the mound that featured eight strikeouts and just one earned-run.
Ben Truckenmiller, Centreville baseball
The senior sparked Centreville’s 6-0 week thanks to his two-way prowess, which included a team-high .526 batting average with 10 total hits, eight RBI, seven runs scored and 12 stolen bases at the dish. On the mound, he racked up 14 strikeouts and allowed just three runs and three hits over eight innings of work.
Sienna Potter, Decatur softball
The senior lifted the Raiders to a 5-1 week thanks to her work done at the plate, which included four homers, three doubles, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored and four walks over 24 plate appearances.
Rowan Bradford, Decatur baseball
Bradford hit a red-hot .647 with four doubles and 11 total hits, adding 10 RBI and five runs scored to guide Decatur to a 5-1 week.
Preston Misak, Gobles baseball
The senior threw a complete game shutout with 14 strikeouts to power Gobles to a 10-0 victory over Martin last Tuesday. He also added four hits at the dish with five runs scored and two stolen bases.
Kylee Killeen, Gobles softball
Killeen was outstanding for Gobles last week, hitting a home run in three consecutive games and finishing with four total –– all highlighted by a two-homer game in a 12-2 win over Bangor on Friday. Killeen finished with a .682 average with 15 total hits, 12 RBI, 17 runs scored and five stolen bases, while holding a 1.273 ERA with 18 strikeouts across 22 innings in the circle.
CJ Bennecke, Gull Lake baseball
Bennecke was a big reason why Gull Lake extended its double-digit winning streak last week, as he hit .500 with a homer and six RBI at the dish, while adding a pair of shutout outings on the mound including a four-inning gem with six strikeouts in a 3-2 win over Grand Ledge on Thursday.
Noah Emmer, Kalamazoo Hackett baseball
The senior put together a stellar week at the plate, hitting .500 with a homer and seven RBI, while adding five runs scored and four walks. Emmer’s homer was of solo variety in a wild 18-17 loss to Constantine last Tuesday.
Kendle Ivy, Kalamazoo Central softball
The junior was K-Central’s leading hitter last week, collecting 12 total hits with three doubles and a homer with seven RBI and six runs scored. Ivy also pitched in three games, going 2-1 with a 1.167 ERA and 20 strikeouts across 18 innings.
Kaeden Rarick, Kalamazoo Christian baseball
Rarick led the Comets to four consecutive wins last week thanks to his work done at the plate, which included three doubles, a triple and six RBI, while adding seven runs scored and a walk.
Aubree Kruger, Marcellus softball
Kruger led the Wildcats to a strong 5-1 week thanks to hitting .643 at the plate with three doubles, two triples, eight RBI and 11 runs scored.
Cale Hackenberg, Marcellus baseball
The sophomore threw a two-hit complete game shutout with 13 strikeouts to power Marcellus’ 5-0 win over Cassopolis on Thursday. Hackenberg finished the week with 19 strikeouts to just three walks over nine innings, while adding six hits including three triples, four RBI and nine runs scored at the plate.
Troy Scarff, Mattawan baseball
The senior led the Wildcats with six total hits including a double and a triple with six RBI, four runs scored and two stolen bases in Mattawan’s 4-0 week.
Kaden Jominy, Mattawan baseball
The Division-I prospect threw a four-inning shutout with eight strikeouts in helping Mattawan sweep Portage Northern last week. He also added three hits with two RBI and three runs scored at the plate.
Gracie Schultz, Mendon softball
Schultz led the Hornets to four straight wins last week thanks to seven total hits at the plate with three RBI, six runs scored and two stolen bases.
Bella Clemons, Paw Paw softball
Clemons tossed a five-inning no-hitter with six strikeouts to no walks in a 11-0 win over Otsego last week. She finished the week with 14 strikeouts to just one walk over 10 innings pitched, while adding four hits and seven runs scored at the plate.
Kat Dreier, Parchment softball
The senior hit .500 with two triples and a homer, along with seven RBI and seven runs scored to help Parchment win four straight games last week.
Andrew Lehto, Paw Paw baseball
Lehto led the Red Wolves at the dish last week, hitting .583 with three triples, a double and seven total hits. He also finished with a team-high 10 RBI, six runs scored and two walks.
Madison Piotter, Portage Central softball
Piotter collected 10 total hits for the Mustangs last week, including two doubles and a homer with nine RBI, eight runs scored and three walks.
Kiki Johnson, Portage Northern softball
The junior outfielder blew away the stat sheet with a .529 average including three doubles, five RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base to help Northern post a 2-3 week.
Jennaya Decker, Three Rivers softball
Decker hit five homers with 14 RBI, nine runs scored, seven walks and three stolen bases to lift Three Rivers to a 5-2 week.
Jaylin Wells, Loy Norrix baseball
Wells led the Knights with a dozen total hits and a .545 batting average last week, including three doubles, eight RBI and eight runs scored in a 7-1 week.
Ben Liddell, Portage Central golf
The junior won individual medalist honors at the SMAC Championships last week thanks to a one-under 144, which featured a one-under 71 in Round 2. Liddell had three birdies on the front nine to secure victory.
Hank Livingston, Gull Lake golf
The senior helped Gull Lake win the SMAC Championship thanks to his third-place score of 146, which featured a three-under 69 round in Round 2.
Joseph Blondia, Gull Lake golf
The senior helped Gull Lake win the SMAC Championship last week thanks to his second-place score of 145. Blondia was one under with a 71 in Round 2.
Colin Clyne, Kalamazoo Christian golf
The freshman helped the Comets win the Pennfield Invite by earning medalist honors, carding a one-under 71 that featured a three-under back nine with an eagle on the par 5 14th hole.
Riley Briggs, Vicksburg golf
The senior tied for medalist honors at Saturday’s Bedford Valley Open, finishing with a one-over 73 that featured a one-under front nine with three birdies. Briggs finished the day with five birdies.
Scarlett Hosner, Vicksburg tennis
The senior won the Wolverine Conference tournament No. 1 singles flight, as she defeated Paw Paw’s Alyssa Crain in a three-set thriller (4-6, 6-2, 6-3).
Daniella Richardson, Kalamazoo Central tennis
The senior kept her unbeaten season intact and won the SMAC tournament No. 1 singles flight, defeating all three of her opponents in two sets.
Addy Fales, Allegan tennis
The junior powered Allegan to a SAC/Lakeland Conference tournament title thanks to her work done at No. 1 singles, where she won her flight with two straight set victories and three overall.
