Vice President Sara Duterte has begun her Visayas and Mindanao sorties to thank the people for their support and to campaign for the ten candidates of the PDP Team Duterte. The goal is to pursue the original battlecry in the 2022 presidential and vice presidential election, which was “unity of the solid North and solid South,” and to continue the economic gains during the administration of her father, former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, who is now detained to face trial for alleged crimes against humanity before the International Criminal Court.Benito Ranque, convenor of the reactivated Masada, told the DAILY TRIBUNE that a video message from the Vice President will be played during the political rallies of the PDP Team Duterte candidates in key areas in Visayas and Mindanao.“Inday Sara promised to attend the rallies. If she cannot make it, a video message will be played on her appeal for straight vote for the DuterTen senatorial candidates for Unity and continuity,” he said.He added that a grand rally and motorcade organized by Dr. Nonoy Trumata will be held Wednesday in Sogod, Southern Leyte, with a motorcade that will wind up in the town plaza.Ranque said all the Team Duterte candidates are expected to join the rally, and they are also expecting the Vice President to show up at the grand rally.He said the ten candidates were earlier endorsed by FPRRD from his ICC detention facility and were also supported by the opposition PDP Team Duterte group.Local candidates to cross political lines to support DuterTenRanque said the grand rally in Sogod, Leyte, will focus on senatorial candidates, with the support of local candidates who crossed party lines to back the PDP Team Duterte.The opposing local candidates will pause their own campaigns to make way for the motorcade of the opposition senatorial candidates.In the Caraga region, the same political landscape is emerging, with opposing local candidates agreeing to support the Team Duterte senatorial slate.It was also in the Caraga region where massive prayer rallies and candlelight events were held after FPRRD was kidnapped and transported to the Netherlands.
