Watch: Batter Drops Mobile Phone While Taking Run During County Championship Match
@Source: news18.com
This one has to be one of the weirdest incidents to have happened during a cricket match at professional level. It was part hilarious and part controversial with the commentators in splits while wondering if sanctions will follow.
During a County Championship Division Two match between Lancashire and Gloucestershire, a mobile phone fell off Tom Bailey’s pocket while he was attempting to take a second run.
An absent-minded Bailey walked in to bat at no. 10 for Lancashire at Old Trafford with his mobile phone in pocket which fell to the ground after he flicked one away to take two runs off Josh Shaw in the 114th over.

“Something has dropped out of his pocket. I think it’s his mobile phone!” said one of the commentators.
While trying to contain his laughter, the commentator also wondered if Bailey will be reported to the match officials for the offense.
“As much as it is hilarious and we are laughing about it, I almost wonder if that’s going to have to be reported. The fact that he was out in the middle with a mobile phone in his pocket,” the commentator said.
