Watch: Jokes And Laughter Galore As India Arrives In England For Test Series
@Source: news18.com
The senior Indian men’s team has landed in the United Kingdom for the five-Test series against England, which begins on June 20 in Headingly. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video of their journey from the Mumbai airport, which included clips of the players interacting with fans, paparazzi, and teasing each other, with smiles and laughter all around, giving the impression of a relaxed team environment.
Some highlights of the video included Jasprit Bumrah teasing one of his teammates for wearing sunglasses at night. Although not confirmed, it could well be new skipper Shubman Gill who was the only one seen in shades multiple times. Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh was seen sharing a laugh, Rishabh Pant was captured answering a pap’s question about Rohit Sharma’s absence, and Sai Sudharsan gave some honest quotes.

Although it wasn’t shown in the video, Pant’s interaction with the paps had gone viral on social media on Friday.
‘Where is Rohit Sharma?’ – one of the cameramen asked Pant at the Mumbai airport. To this, the wicketkeeper-batter said: ‘Garden mein ghoom rahe hain (he is roaming in the garden)’ referencing the former skipper’s on-field remarks caught on stump-mic, and burst out laughing, making others laugh around him, too. When asked if he would miss the now-retired stalwart, Pant answered in the affirmative.
‘Form a pack of wolves’: Aakash Chopra’s advice to Shubman Gill and Co.
The youthfulness of the team was clearly visible in the video. Gill, 25, is the fifth youngest captain in Indian Test cricket history, while this Test series will be the first time in ages that the team will be without Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, and several other seniors.
On Friday, ex-cricketer Aakash Chopra also advised Gill to use this opportunity to ‘create a pack of wolves’.
“Form a leadership group—bring 4–5 players together and build a core. Include Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj. Create a pack of wolves. These are the guys who’ll be with you today, in six months, and five years down the line,” Chopra said on JioHotstar.
“With a young team, it’s important that the captain grows with the group. Seniors and juniors often have different routines and circles—but with this new-look team, you have a chance to build a collective culture. It’s a rare opportunity to create a bond and a story that the entire nation will be proud of,” he added.
