Watch: Mohammed Siraj Breathes Fire During Gujarat Titans' Intra-Squad Match

Star India pacer Mohammed Siraj looked at his very best during the Gujarat Titans’ intra-squad game as he bowled perfect lines and lengths to find his opposition batters in a fix, as seen in a viral video posted by the franchise on Thursday morning.
Siraj missed out on the team for the Champions Trophy and has been out of the T20I side since 2024’s World Cup win. His exclusion was surprising, he had been India’s leading ODI wicket-taker from the beginning of 2022 to the end of last year, with his 71 strikes coming at an average of around 23.
Siraj had bowled well enough in this period to begin ahead of Mohammed Shami during the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Siraj was released by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, which shocked many, but Gujarat showcased faith in him and signed him for a whopping Rs 12.25 crore. Watch the video here:

Siraj will look to garner Ajit Agarkar and his team’s attention so he can be put back on the radar for a return.
Besides Siraj, England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, Glenn Phillips, Prasidh Krishna, Kagiso Rabada and Gerald Coetzee were all bagged in the IPL 2025 mega auction by Gujarat.
“We have a strong fast-bowling attack. Rashid has been with us and we have explosive batters like Rutherford, Philips and Buttler. Some talented Indian players like Mahipal and Sai add depth to our squad,” Gujarat skipper Shubman Gill said while speaking to JioHotstar.
It was a decade back that Siraj first bowled with a cricket ball. In 2017, he bagged an IPL contract worth Rs 2.6 crore. Months later, he was wearing an India shirt and bowling in a T20I against New Zealand.
Potential translated to performance when Siraj was Hyderabad’s highest wicket-taker playing just his second season of Ranji Trophy, 41 wickets in nine games.
Siraj was last seen in action in a Ranji Trophy game against Vidarbha in January. He picked four wickets in the match, returning to domestic first-class cricket after almost five years.
