The New Zealand batter was out for 11 when he was caught by Calvin Savage off Adam Milne in the fifth over. Andries Goes and Mitchell Owen then added 119 runs for the second wicket in 58 balls to put Washington on the course of a huge win. Owen was out in the 15th over for 89, which came off 52 balls with eight fours and five huge sixes. Gous was not out on 80, which came off 45 balls with six boundaries and four maximums. This was also Gous" best score in MLC, while Glenn Maxwell scored 20 off just 12 balls with a solitary boundary and two sixes. Glenn Phillips" 12 off 4 balls saw the Washington side through to the win. Adam Milne was the best bowler for TSK, claiming all three wickets to end with figures of 3/42 from his four overs.
