The second round of the Masters Tournament brought with it the usual cut after 36 holes. Several players punched their tickets to the weekend with outstanding performances, while others lost theirs in the most unexpected of ways.Among the latter was Cameron Young, who saw his hopes of making the final two rounds at Augusta National Golf Club dashed on the 16th hole.Young arrived at the iconic par-3, 170-yard with a score of 2-over for the tournament, which up to that point was allowing him to make the cut. However, his prospects looked increasingly bleak the minute he teed off.The 27-year-old drove the ball 148 yards to the right of the green, right into the crowd. His next shot seemed to fix the situation as he reached the green and was left with an 11-foot putt for par. Then the debacle began. Young missed his first putt, leaving the ball just 11 inches from the hole. That's fine, that happens. But then he went to tap that in and missed, once again leaving the ball 11 inches from the hole.Young unbelievably then missed that 11-inch putt before finally finding the bottom of the cup with his fourth. His triple bogey on this hole took his tournament score to 5-over and effectively knocked him out of the tournament. His frustration was evident on the final two holes, where he also bogeyed and missed key putts.Cameron Young was one of the big surprises among those who missed the cut. Predictions had him playing the weekend after finishing in the top 10 in his previous two Masters Tournament appearances.Young had not missed the cut at Augusta National Golf Club since his debut in the 2022 season. This is the sixth missed cut of the season for Young (11 tournaments played), who has only one top-10 finish on the PGA Tour this year (The Sentry, T8). This is a far cry from last season, when he missed just one cut in 20 starts and finished in the top 10 six times, including a tie for second.More Golf: Bryson DeChambeau Corrects Report of President Trump Masters Text
