@Source: sports.info
The 2025 Japanese Grand Prix is complete, and we saw Max Verstappen win his first-ever race of the 2025 Formula 1 season. The Dutch driver has now become a four-time race winner at the Suzuka circuit. The two McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, tried very hard to take the lead, but Verstappen was too good, and they had no chance. Advertisment The race-defining moment was during the pit stop, where Max Verstappen and Lando Norris stopped to change tires at the same time. Max was running on pole with Lando behind. The McLaren driver had to go some extra distance to his garage as they were the first in constructors. Lando had the advantage of coming first because the pit lane exit is very near to the McLaren garage. But the Red Bull pit stop crew were lightning quick with their tire change and sent Verstappen a millisecond faster than McLaren's crew. The Dutchman kept his line and didn't give any space on the exit. Norris went to the grass and complained on the radio about Verstappen deliberately pushing him. If the Red Bull crew had been a little bit slower, then the race results would have been very different, and Lando would have won. Thanks to their lightning-fast hands that helped Max Verstappen win the F1 Japanese Grand Prix for the fourth time. With this win, he equals Sebastian Vettel"s record of four wins in Suzuka, and he is now behind Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton. Max Verstappen is now second in the driver's championship, only one point behind Lando Norris, who stands first with 62 points in three rounds. The next race will be in Bahrain in a few days, and then we will head to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, the fastest track on the calendar. So we still have more live action in a few days, and let us see whether the teams bring good upgrades before the race.
