Renny Harlin directs once again with Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland writing. Producers include Courtney Solomon, Mark Canton, Christopher Milburn, Gary Raskin, Alastair Burlingham, and Charlie Dombek. All three movies were shot at once, and the story takes place over the span of five days. "This first film is a retelling of the 2008 original that is very beloved, including by me. But it’s also a launch pad into chapters two and three, which are a departure from anything you’ve ever seen," Petsch told The Hollywood Reporter. "It becomes more of a character study, mentally, emotionally, and physically. What happens when a person is pushed far beyond their breaking point? Who are they left with?" The Strangers - Chapter 2 will be released in theaters on September 26. A release date for the third and final chapter has not yet been announced.
