Delhi Capitals (DC) bowlers kept Mumbai Indians" batters on a tight leash in the IPL 2025 game at the Wankhede Stadium. Spinner Vipraj Nigam and Kuldeep Yadav didn"t let the MI batters open their shoulders with some tight bowling. The introduction of pace gave MI batters the chance to score some runs. Tilak Varma, who had been struggling to score runs, played a scoop shot to finally give respite to the home fans. In the fifth ball of the 11th over, Tilak Varma went down on his knees and scooped the ball straight over the wicketkeeper's head for a six. This was the much-wanted pressure release for MI as their batters found runs tough to come by. Rohit Sharma was the first man out for five runs, dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman. Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks then added 25 runs for the second wicket. Jacks was out for 21 when he mistimed a shot off Mukesh Kumar and Vipraj Nigam completed a key catch. Ryan Rickelton became the third wicket to fall when he was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav. This was also the 100th wicket of the left-arm wrist spinner in IPL cricket. Suryakumar Yadav"s fifth leads MI to 180 Struggling at 58/3 in the seventh over, MI saw Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav join forces. The pair added 55 runs for the fourth wicket, which came in 49 balls. Both batters struggled to play the spinners but managed to rotate the strike. Just when it seemed the partnership was getting dangerous, Tilak Varma was dismissed. The left-handed batter holed out to Sameer Rizvi to give Mukesh his second wicket. Skipper Hardik Pandya gave an easy catch to Mukesh as Chameera picked his first wicket of the game. Yadav reached his fifty on the first ball of the 19th over with a huge six off Mukesh Kumar. The penultimate over of the innings saw MI score 27 runs to go close to 159 runs on what is a difficult wicket. The final over bowled by Dushmanta Chameera saw 21 runs being scored with Yadav hitting two fours and two sixes. Stand between Yadav and Naman Dhir raised 57 off just 21 balls, with Yadav not out on 73 off 43 balls, while Naman Dhir was not out on 24 off eight balls.
