After a spectacular move where he dribbled the ball through Wendell Carter's legs, Young got a technical, seemingly for staring down the Orlando bench. After the call, Young showed off his lack of judgement — and his soccer skills — by kicking the ball, then stealing it away from the referee. The second technical followed, while Young barely broke stride on his way to the locker room.
Young scored 28 points before his ejection, shooting 8-for-21 from the field and 11-for-12 from the foul line. But he only made one three-pointer, while his teammates also struggled, finishing 4-for-21 from behind the arc. The Magic won by a commanding 120-95 final score.
The shenanigans will cost Young some fine money, but shouldn't affect his availability for Friday's final play-in game, where the Hawks will host the winner of Wednesday's game between the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat.
Ultimately, Young let his emotions get the best of him, but at least he got to rest for an extra few minutes. On a night where he was actually frustrated by Cole Anthony, Anthony Black and the relentless Magic defense, Young blamed the referees.
In a game where he shot 12 free throws, Young might want to look in the mirror — and steal the ball out of that guy's hands.
