Waymo Provides Riders Perks at LA’s New Restaurants
@Source: laweekly.com
Waymo, the autonomous ride-hailing service, is launching a new program supporting riders and diners as they experience the city’s new restaurant openings. The program will feature partnerships with four highly anticipated restaurants opening over the summer season starting on Thursday, June 26. The program, produced by the CARVINGBLOCK hospitality experience, will provide priority reservations, along with unique culinary surprises and more, to help support a struggling restaurant industry. Each month, Waymo will partner with one of LA’s new culinary concept openings, starting with Lucia, the new Afro-Caribbean restaurant from Chef Adrian Forte and Owner Sam Jordan.. In July, the campaign rides into West Adams, collaborating with Maydan Market and restaurant, a Michelin-starred pedigree opening centered on live fire hearth cooking. August will feature the grand reopening of Genghis Cohen, known for its NYC-style Chinese fare and signature Foo-Foo drinks. The final stop of the tour is in West Los Angeles for the opening of an exciting entrant to Los Angeles from a famed New York City group that is soon to be announced and features Korean staples in an elevated contemporary space. Each restaurant partner will offer riders priority reservations across their opening periods, as well as special takeaways to be enjoyed in their Waymo ride home. “We couldn’t be more excited to take part in Waymo’s program,” Marc Rose of Genghis Cohen said in a statement. His new restaurant will be near its original location and is said to be a replica of the Christmas Day hotspot. “We live in a city that can feel difficult or even painstakingly annoying to traverse, and any opportunity to encourage more guests to dine in and experience the restaurant is a win. Having them arrive in the safest way possible, thanks to Waymo, is an even greater win for us as restaurant operators and the industry as a whole.”
