We need this - Arteta’s assertive claim after Arsenal end decade-long Champions League wait
@Source: pulsesports.ng
Mikel Arteta made a bold declaration after Arsenal's Champions League breakthrough.
Mikel Arteta was pleased that Arsenal advanced to the Champions League quarter-final, where they will play European giants Real Madrid.
Oleksandr Zinchenko and Declan Rice twice put the Gunners ahead against PSV, but Ivan Perisic and Couhaib Driouech pegged back the hosts.
Although it ended 2-2 on the night, the Gunners’ 7-1 victory at PSV last week meant the draw at the Emirates Stadium did not prevent the Premier League side from progressing to the competition’s last eight for a consecutive season.

What Arteta said about Arsenal’s Champions League progress
Speaking after the match, Arteta was satisfied by Arsenal reaching this stage of the competition in consecutive seasons after a 15-year wait.
“Yeah that shows you how challenging that is,” said Arteta after Arsenal’s 9-3 aggregate win over PSV.
“The club needs it. We are a club a team that wants to be the best, and wants to be competing with the best teams in the world.”
What next for Arsenal?
Although Arteta’s side return to Premier League action on Sunday against Chelsea, the Gunners are 15 points adrift of Liverpool atop the league and face an uphill battle.
Thus, Arsenal might throw everything they have into a deep run in the Champions League.
The Gunners will play Real Madrid in the quarter-final.
