Virat Kohli posted a heartfelt post for the Indian Armed Forces on the 79th Independence Day. Kohli took to Instagram and lauded our forces for making the country secure. "Today, we smile in freedom because they stood with unwavering courage. We salute and honor the sacrifices of our heroes on this joyous Independence Day. Proud to be Indian. Jai Hind," read his post. Kohli echoed the sentiments of every Indian who remembered the great freedom fighters who happily sacrificed their lives for the country. Several Indian cricketers, including Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, also celebrated the 79th Independence Day. The batting great hasn't played any cricket post the IPL 2025, and the Australia series is critical to his quest to make the India squad for the ODI World Cup 2027. Kohli needs to score runs in Australia to prolong his ODI career because a berth in the World Cup squad is not a guarantee. To attain peak fitness and form, Virat Kohli has started training for the series. Recently, he teamed up with Gujarat Titans' assistant coach Naeem Amin in London.
