A young West Lothian dancer is hoping to raise funds to be able to perform in New York. Lylah McNabb, 11, competes as part of Dance Fusion in Bathgate and 16 other young performers are hoping they will be able to raise the funds needed to take on a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’. In July 2025, the team are preparing to perform on Broadway and as part of a concert in New York’s Time Square. Parents are hoping to raise around £2,200 per dancer to get the girls overseas. Speaking to Edinburgh Live , mum Jenna McNabb, 36, said she is ‘proud’ of her daughter and says dance has really built her daughters confidence. Lylah starting dancing at the age of three before she took a small break. Picking the hobby back up when she was eight, she has danced at the school ever since and developed a real passion for the skill. Jenna added: “The price to get over there is extortionate and we are really hoping we can raise what’s needed to get the girls over there. “Lylah started dancing when she was really little but she stopped enjoying it. When she was around eight-years-old, she decided to get back into dancing and her passion has continued to grow ever since. “Her confidence has grown too and now she does lots of different styles. She’s been part of the competition team at Dance Fusion for a year and a half now and we compete in competitions all across Scotland. “It’s really a once in a lifetime opportunity and a dream they really want to fulfil. She’s got the opportunity and we want to make it happen for all the girls. “As her parent, it’s really amazing to see her do this.” You can find out how to donate and find out more about Dance Fusion on Instagram and Facebook.
