What four-star wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt’s commitment means for Ohio State football
@Source: cleveland.com
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State and Brian Hartline have done it — again — at receiver. Ho-hum.
The Buckeyes earned a commitment from four-star wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt on Sunday afternoon, adding another elite weapon to the Ohio State offense in future years.
And for another added benefit? Ohio State beat out fellow Big Ten teams USC and Oregon.
The 2026 wideout is from Mater Dei in California and is the No. 107 overall prospect and No. 15 receiver in the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also a teammate of Ohio State five-star WR commit Chris Henry Jr.
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Dixon-Wyatt had 50 catches and 693 yards with five touchdowns in 2024, his junior season, per 247Sports.
He will take an official visit to Ohio State on May 30.
Ohio State’s receiving class for the class is likely set with his pledge. There’s Dixon-Wyatt and Henry, who will pair with four-star receivers Brock Boyd and Jaeden Ricketts. As it stands, Ohio State’s four pledges make up one-third of the 2026 class now.
Dixon-Wyatt can fulfill a variety of roles on Ohio State’s offense, and with four receivers in the 2025 class, and four in the 2026 class, Hartline will have a bevy of options in his receiver room to help coordinate his offense.
As for the 2026 class, it’s just another stellar addition to the room that produces first-round wide receivers like a factory. The Buckeyes, as long as Hartline is on staff, don’t have much to worry about as it relates to their receiver position.
Now, Ohio State can turn its attention to other matters in the class on offense — specifically, landing a quarterback and a pair of running backs to go with the assortment of depth and talent at receiver.
Ohio State had struggled in recent years to land top prospects out of the California powerhouse, but if anyone was going to break through at Mater Dei, it was Hartline.
The Buckeyes now have the No. 3 class in the 247Sports rankings, behind only USC and Notre Dame.
