Akkineni Nagarjuna at 65 looks ageless, super fit, and healthy. Apart from his genes, the actor says it has a lot to do with the consistency he has maintained over his daily routine for three decades. Nagarjuna eats dinner by 7 pm Unlike what most people follow, Nagarjuna has a very early dinner regularly. “But it’s an early eating. By 7 pm, I have salads, rice, chicken, fis” the actor said in an earlier interview. “It is a way of life,” he added. Nagarjuna says he has been following a similar routine for more than 35 years now, which means his body is used to his ways. Nagarjuna says he believes in fuelling his body with the right foods that help maintain energy levels and overall health. “My diet has changed drastically over the years; you need to do that, as your body can't handle what it could when you were 30. And I feel much lighter because of the diet change,” he told the Hindustan Times. Defending his early dinner habit, the Bigg Boss Telugu host said, “That is what I have been doing. I finish my dinner by 7 pm or 7.30 pm at the latest. This will set your diet and lifestyle on track. The other thing is that many of us Indians have a dairy intolerance after a certain age and gluten intolerance. These two, if you are off, half your problems are solved.” According to experts, eating an early dinner helps in digestion, as it allows your system to function correctly before your body begins to wind down for the night. The next morning, you may feel the difference as you wake up feeling better and have more energy to go through the day. Doctors also say eating early in the evening helps balance your natural circadian rhythm and prevents stress and insomnia. While he does follow the 12:12 intermittent fasting method, Nagarjuna is addicted to chocolate as well. But finding the right balance, he only eats it on a Sunday – his cheat day. Nagarjuna’s fitness secrets The Telugu actor maintains his fitness through a combination of consistent exercise, which his body is able to balance out at his age. According to his trainers, Nagarjuna’s daily fitness routine includes workouts that involve strength training and cardio, which keep his heart rate elevated. Also, for the days he is not actively involved in training, Nagarjuna takes up his favourite activities – swimming and golf. He says playing golf profoundly impacts his mental health and helps focus, as it offers a unique combination of physical activity and cognitive challenges. “For mental clarity, I play a little bit of golf. Golf is very mental. I think it keeps your mind very sharp, as the concentration levels are very high to play the game right.” Swimming, he says, keeps him young. “I have been swimming since the age of 14 or 15, so it is a part of my life. It is fantastic,” he said.
