Sachin Opens Up in a Fun AMA
Recently the cricket icon hosted a hilarious yet insightful Ask Me Anything AMA session on Reddit. Fans bombarded him with questions and Sachin didnrsquot disappoint sharing stories anecdotes and candid moments from his illustrious career including his fierce battles with Australian legends like Glenn McGrath and the late Shane Warne.
The Bucknor Banter
When asked about his equation with international umpire Steve Bucknor Tendulkar came up with a witty reply.
ldquoWhen I am batting give him boxing gloves to wear so he canrsquot raise his fingerrdquo
Sachin quipped leaving fans in splits.
Risky Shots Against McGrath
A fan also asked whether he ever played false shots intentionally. To this Sachin revealed
ldquoYes on many occasions I have played risky shots to break the bowlerrsquos rhythm. The one that comes to my mind is against McGrath in Nairobi in 2000.rdquo
The match he referred to was the 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy quarter-final where Sachin opening with Sourav Ganguly scored a quick 38 off 37 balls smashing two boundaries and three sixes. India eventually won by 20 runs thanks to debutant Yuvraj Singhrsquos explosive 84-run knock sealing a memorable victory.
