Where Are All 45 “Survivor ”Winners Now? A Look at Their Lives Today After Earning the Coveted $1 Million Prize
@Source: people.com
Throughout its 25-year run, Survivor has seen hundreds of contestants get their torches snuffed, and only 45 people have become Sole Survivors.
On May 21, the long-running CBS show will wrap up its 48th season. Season 50 — which fans have been voting on throughout the series' most recent run — will be the first since 2020 to feature returning players, meaning that another player could potentially join Sandra Diaz-Twine and Tony Vlachos' elite club of two-time winners.
The series, hosted by Jeff Probst, follows contestants through a series of challenges, twists and the dreaded Tribal Council, where a group anonymously votes out one of their members at the end of every episode.
Yet the best twist of the show happens when the remaining players reach the final Tribal Council and must earn winning votes from the jury a.k.a. the players that were most recently voted out of the game.
Since its May 2000 premiere, Survivor has produced dozens of memorable winners — including "Boston" Rob Mariano, Parvati Shallow and Richard Hatch — many of whom have gone on to compete on other competition series, like The Traitors, The Challenge and Deal or No Deal Island.
Here’s everything to know about every Survivor winner and where they are now.
Richard Hatch
Hatch became the first-ever Sole Survivor in August 2000, gaining recognition for forming the show’s first alliance.
He returned to play Survivor for 2004’s All-Stars season and later appeared in shows like The Celebrity Apprentice and The Biggest Loser. Most recently, he starred in the second season of E!'s House of Villains, where he came in tenth place.
In 2006, Hatch was convicted on two counts of attempted tax evasion and one count of signing a fraudulent tax return after failing to report his $1 million Survivor prize and other smaller sums. He served over four years in federal prison, then was sent back to prison for nine months after he failed to amend his previous tax returns, per Entertainment Weekly.
In 2017, Hatch and his partner, Emiliano Cabral, split after 14 years of marriage, according to Extra.
Tina Wesson
Tina Wesson won Survivor season 2, The Australian Outback, in May 2001.
Wesson went on to play again in 2013 with her daughter Katie Collins for the show’s first Blood vs. Water season.
After Survivor, Wesson built a cabin in the woods of North Carolina, occasionally teaching survival classes. She remains married to her husband Dale.
"Survivor was the greatest experience," she previously told PEOPLE. "It was never about the money. It was about the adventure."
Ethan Zohn
Ethan Zohn won season 3 Survivor: Africa in January 2002.
He competed again in 2004 on All-Stars and in 2020 on Winners at War — a triumphant return after getting diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2009. (In 2012, he announced he was cancer-free.)
After the show, Zohn dated season 6 winner Jenna Morasca for a decade, and the two competed on The Amazing Race together before separating in 2013. He married New York City interior designer Lisa Heywood in 2016.
With his winnings, Zohn co-founded the organization Grassroot Soccer, which works to combat the AIDS epidemic in Africa.
Vecepia Towery
Vecepia Towery won season 4 Survivor: Marquesas in May 2002.
During the show, she formed a close bond with fellow castaway and “Survivor brother” Sean Rector, who later became her son Jordan’s godfather.
She is the first of only two Black women to ever win the game, though she never returned to play again. Towery has largely stayed out of the spotlight since her win and works at a health company in California, per Entertainment Weekly.

She now works as a veterinary nurse in Pennsylvania, she told Entertainment Weekly in 2021.

After her back-to-back wins, Diaz-Twine played the game two more times — in season 34’s Game Changers in 2016 and 2020’s Winners at War — and appeared as a mentor alongside Mariano on 2019’s Island of the Idols. She also starred on Australian Survivor: Blood vs. Water with her daughter Nina Twine in 2022.
Thanks to her $2 million in winnings, Diaz-Twine joked to PEOPLE that she “doesn’t do a damn thing” and instead focused on her family life in North Carolina with her husband Marcus and their two kids. She recently placed fifth in season 2 of Peacock’s The Traitors.

After his season, Westman retired from firefighting and got a job as an insurance salesman — though he doesn't tell clients about his stints on reality TV.
