Will Manchester United qualify for Europe? Take our fixtures predictor and find out
@Source: manchestereveningnews.co.uk
Manchester United return to Premier League action this midweek - for the first time in more than a fortnight - as they aim to climb the table. Ruben Amorim's team are in 13th position and will face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Tuesday night (8pm). The trip to the East Midlands will be United's first of their final nine fixtures before the end of the campaign. United have 37 points to their name, after 29 matches, and will be determined to climb the table before the end of the season. There is still a chance that United could qualify for Europa via their league position, despite being in the bottom half of the standings, as things stand. Across their final nine matches, United have home games against Manchester City , Wolves, West Ham and Aston Villa at Old Trafford . There are also away trips to Forest (tonight), Newcastle, Bournemouth, Brentford and Chelsea before the end of the term. The other path that United have to qualify for Europe is by winning the Europa League . If the Reds win the trophy, then they would book a place in next season's Champions League . United have 27 points to play for in the Premier League this season - meaning the highest number of points they could finish the campaign with is 64. There are expected to be a lot of twists and turns before the end of the season, with United still having the possibility of winning a major trophy, which would be the first of the Amorim era after he replaced Erik ten Hag in the dugout in November.
