National Football Team attacking midfielder Wisdom Mpinganjira has been included in a list of Africa’s best 11 players for the week of April 7 to 13. Africa Soccer Zone, a leading Ghanaian online media outlet, compiled the list, attributing the inclusion to Mpinganjira’s fine form for Wanderers. Other players who have made the cut are Frederick Asare of Ghana’s Asante Kotoko, Waliu Ojotoye of Ikorodu City in Nigeria, Zambian side Power Dynamos’ Jackson Mulabia, Gaborone United’s Lebogang Ditsele, Walid El Karti of Pyramid in Egypt, Junior Makunike of Zimbabwean side Simba Bhora, Ayomide Cole of Nigeria’s Ikorodu City, Wandile Dhuba of Kaizer Chiefs and Kingsley Braye of Medeama Sporting in Ghana. Wanderers have celebrated the achievement by posting the item on their Facebook page. Mpinganjira is enjoying a rich vein of form with two man-of-the-match awards in as many TNM Super League fixtures. He was the star of the show on Sunday when Wanderers laboured to a 3-2 win over Mighty Tigers at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre. The player found the back of the net twice and provided an assist to take his goal tally to three with a similar number of assists in just two matches. Mpinganjira said he was humbled to make the grade among the best players in Africa. He said this would motivate him to continue working hard as he fights to catch the attention of foreign clubs. “It feels great to be recognised as a top player outside Malawi. I am, therefore, working hard to improve my performance in each and every game and, at the same time, helping my team to win matches,” Mpinganjira said. The player is expected to play a crucial role for the Nomads as they line up against Karonga United in an Airtel Top 8 match scheduled for Kamuzu Stadium. Mpinganjira’s consistent performances have also won him a place in the Flames starting 11.
