The pub, which opens next Tuesday, is owned by Romanian entrepreneur Anca Baak. “I have always felt that pubs unite communities and bring people together. Hospitality has always been a family affair for us, and sports have been more than just a hobby. So we combined both with the specific purpose of creating a welcoming space,” Anca told Euro Weekly News. Anca and her husband were born in Romania, spent many years in Great Britain, and have been living in Malaga province for over three years. With their passion for both hospitality and sports, they decided to open a place where people could connect over their shared love of the game. Bar Los Valdeleños has a sporty design, with football scarves from all over the world covering the walls. “My husband’s collection of scarves has been put to noble use. Now, all our customers are welcome to visit and admire it while enjoying a great beer and delicious tapas,” Anca explained. While football is a major focus, the pub aims to be a hub for all sports enthusiasts. “Predictable enough, there will be football involved, but we embrace and respect all types of sports and competitions. Rugby, tennis, motorsports are just a few that come to mind, but there are many more. Our credo is that everyone is welcome,” Anca emphasised. According to the owner, the pub offers a warm, family-friendly atmosphere where they value open-mindedness and genuine connections. “That’s in addition to quality football, great beer, and good food,” she added. Bar Los Valdeleños serves a variety of draft beers, wines, and fizzy drinks, alongside tapas and traditional Spanish dishes. “But we’re open to our guests suggestions and will update the menu accordingly,” Anca said. With its friendly atmosphere and inclusive spirit, Bar Los Valdeleños is set to become a go-to spot for locals and expatriates alike, offering a place to enjoy good company, great food, and live sports in the region of Axarquia.
